Today was one of those days that was over before I realized it had started. I got up, fed the cat and my mother (yes in that order because the cat squawks louder), did a little meditation, and tackled the questions I was going to be asked on the radio show, "Off the Shelf." I was really looking forward to that interview. We did the pilot two weeks ago and the synergy between all the guests was marvelous.
When I was certain that I knew what I wanted to say, I logged into SL and started looking for the last few sims I needed for the Story Quest. I got so immersed in that little project that I almost forgot to change into storytelling attire and didn't hear the Skype call when it came in. I didn't have my headphones on and was busy searching through inventory for boots to match my outfit (I know I know....)
Well to make a long story short, I eventually noticed the Kghia (one of the two hosts of the show) was worriedly IMing me, put my headphones on, and answered the call. After that it was just a quick TP to the Bookstacks sim (a cool place if you haven't been and worth the visit) and I was good to go. Phew. Good thing my avi doesn't sweat.
I am happy to report that I had a great time being interviewed again. Who doesn't love talking about her favorite subjects (in my case stories, writing, and education)? Otenth, our audio guru for the day, recorded it all, and it can be heard here: http://www.archive.org/details/OffTheShelf-Episode0001.
After that is was a meeting about grants, a reading by a new friend from his book, a chat with a dragon, and more clue creation.
Now I have thoroughly worn myself out, I am off to bed. Only five more days until the Quest. I can hardly wait!
I actually stumbled across this blog after I had seen some of your pictures on Flickr. I loved the photos, they were absolutely gorgeous! I'm going to look for some of those places the next time I'm in-world.
