Okay, so it seems like there is more not less to do as the Quest
approaches. Please tell me that's an illusion. The good news is
that I have all but two of the sims lined up and have met some amazingly
creative sim owners in the process. Dang we have some talented people in
SL. Also opinionated. Over the last few weeks as I went looking for
sims, I have had discussions (and occasionally heated ones) about:
- the superiority of turquoise as a color over all other colors in the
spectrum
- whether or not attraction (the physical sort) is a yes or no proposition
- What it means to be heterosexual
- whether or not SL relationships are real
- whether or not a piece of art created in SL is as valid and valuable as one
created in RL
- the need for more Linden control over adult content in SL
- whether or not the number of avis allowed on a sim can be increased temporarily (no)
- whether or not it is advisable to take an SL relationship into RL
- what's the best way to market SL events to RL media
- players
- the best recording equipment
Phew. Not exactly easy reading, but on the other hand I haven't had a chance to be bored.
In the meantime, the Quest is coming into focus (I've even started to get sponsorship offers), and I'm checking things off my list right and left:
- DJ found: check
- Storytellers for the celebration: partial check. Still looking for two or three more so holler if you know of someone or would like to tell a story yourself (10-minute limit).
- Clues: the display is built, the books created (thank you Krull), and all resized to fit various venues: check
- Sims chosen: check but not all are confirmed
- Real and Second Life Media Contacted: I'm still working on this, so if you know of any publication that might be interested please let me know.
- Machinima Folks: Don't have anyone yet, so if you can find someone please let me know.
- Photographer: I have one but could use several
- Audio Recorder: Had someone lined up but she fell through. If you know how to record in SL and would be willing to record participants as they do the Quest and/or the storytelling afterwards, please let me know.
THANK YOU!
Okay, so that's enough for now. I'm going back to wrestling with the clues and trying to track down sim owners. Thanks for all the support folks. Waves across the virtual miles.
