Zumba has become increasingly popular nowadays because people find it to be a fun way to lose weight and keep fit. It has now become a regular on most gyms across the country. Not only on gyms, we see people doing it in public parks and to some viewers, it can be funny but inspiring at the same time.

Zumba is a dance fitness program developed by Colombian dancer and choreographer Alberto “Beto” Perez. It all started when Perez forgot to bring his tape of aerobics music for his class and improvised a class using conventional latin music.

Zumba is a trademark owned by Zumba Fitness, LLC. Even though the name sound rather exciting, it doesn’t really have a particular meaning.

 

Diverse Music

Zumba classes are typically an hour long and it includes music with fast and slow rhythms. Music comes from diverse dance styles such as, salsa, mambo, merengue, hip hop, samba, tango, flamenco and so on.

 

9 Different Types Of Classes

There are different types of classes according to different levels of age and exertion. Classes are: Zumba Gold, Zumba Step, Zumba Toning, Aqua Zumba, Zumba in the Circuit, Zumba Kids, Zumba Kids Jr., Zumba Gold-Toning and Zumba Sentao.
